現今的屏東縣高樹鄉泰山村，舊地名叫加蚋埔，是一個馬卡道族聚落，12月25日當地特別恢復十多年未舉辦的祈雨祭典，這是平埔族古老的農業儀式之一，尤其在久旱不雨或春耕前，族人就會舉辦，祈雨儀式會祭拜由百種鳥類羽毛編成的雨王，還有祈雨舞，25日重現，讓村民看了很感動。
莎卡蘭溪上游，十多位加蚋埔居民正在跳著祈雨舞，這是屏東馬卡道族加吶埔聚落中斷十多年的祈雨儀式，今天上午重現，讓村民看了很開心。

平埔夜祭祈雨的活動
以前只要缺水就會舉辦祈雨儀式，後來因為經費不足中斷，今年屏東縣文化處支持，讓儀式和夜祭同一天舉辦，村民們都很開心，而儀式裡，最重要的就是祭拜由百種鳥類羽毛裝飾而成的雨王。

除了祭拜，村民還在河床上放了一對雞，用於祭拜山神，村民所唱的祈雨調，每一首代表著一隻鳥，以前有上百首，但大多失傳，經過努力收集，已經找回13首，也因為別具意義，屏東縣文化處特別派人專程記錄，將提報為屏東縣的無形文化資產。(記者 郭釆彥 孟昭權 屏東報導)
