★時效性、新聞性、地方性！ 長久以來，台灣的政經及文化資源多集中在北部，造成台灣南北普遍性落差，傳播媒體也是。
但台灣媒體生態不平衡，除了區域性之外，族群語言使用也是一個問題，福佬系台灣人雖被稱為台灣最優勢的族群，但其語言在媒體上所呈現的角色，以及語言的保護工作，其實與原住民各族語言、客家語一樣，都面臨相同的困境與歧視。
依公視法，公視基金會本即有傳播多元節目的使命，在尊重族群獨立自主的基本原則下，保障族群傳播服務之主體性，2007年1月1日原民台、客家台正式加入公廣集團即本此精神。因此公視《台語新聞》的開播，不止是政策，而應是極其自然的事。
公視《台語新聞》開播時段為中午11：57—12：57，晚間為18：26—18：58。 就整體新聞內容而言，勢所必然須著重新聞最重要元素「時效性」、「新聞性」，且更希望朝向區域均衡與地方特色規劃，除強調在地化新聞，增加與民眾之親近性，同時要重視文化、生態或社區精神，建構為公視另一新聞地標。

回覆刪除公視有許多台，若是能將其中一台改為台語台的話，對於族群保障就更臻完整了。
雖然福佬系台灣人占多數，但台語在主流媒體的使用頻率極低 Sprunki。這種現象不僅限制了台語的使用範圍，也削弱了文化傳承的力量。
