台灣雲豹，在2013年不幸被宣布滅絕，台北市立動物園表示，這個月10號，向德國烏帕塔動物園，引進一隻兩歲半的雌性雲豹，未來也將會積極引進雄性雲豹，希望能透過國際合作，讓雲豹重現生機，為保育工作，盡一份心力。
把籠子打開，小雲豹探出頭，往外走沒幾步，又跑回籠子裡頭去。牠是台北市立動物園，向德國烏帕塔動物園引進2歲半的雌性雲豹SUKI。

以第一時間 牠沒有馬上就
到一個開闊的空間
因為本來 小型的食肉目動物
就比較喜歡待在有遮蔽
然後有 比較有安全感的地方
台灣雲豹，在2013年不幸被宣布滅絕，其他國家，也因為棲地消失、非法盜獵等因素，使雲豹數量持續下降。為了推動相關的域外保種計劃，因此園方展開國際合作。
而在動物園裡，原本就只有一隻，在2001年被查緝到，從東南亞走私來的雲豹，叫「雲新」。

看到雲豹現身，小朋友有點驚訝。「雲新」已經高齡16歲了，難得亮相，看起來美麗、又一派輕鬆的悠閒模樣，依然吸引許多民眾目光。至於剛報到的「SUKI」，將進行一個月的檢疫。

至少要一個月以上的時間
在檢疫舍裡面
確認沒有傳染病
沒有身體的一些特殊狀況之後
才會離出檢疫(舍)
到展示場跟大家見面
所以後續不管是跟泰國
或是跟歐洲 都會再繼續談
引進新的血緣
或是新的公的雲豹進來
園方表示，未來將規劃引進雄性雲豹，希望能在台灣建立起衛星族群，和其他國家，一起來為雲豹保育工作，盡一份心力。(記者 曹晏郡 吳其昌 台北報導)
