國際知名小提琴家蘇顯達，5歲開始拉小提琴，從小被媽媽逼著練琴，經常能躲就躲，直到小學四年級參加管弦樂團，拉得好可以四處表演四處玩，才開始覺得拉琴很不錯，小學六年級時，隨兒童交響樂團代表台灣去菲律賓交流，當年跟紅葉少棒一樣風光。直到國三，媽媽要他放下樂器，專心準備聯考，反而讓他思念起拉小提琴的日子，高中重拾樂器也立志要走音樂這條路，後來去了法國留學，並考上有百年歷史的巴黎市立交響樂團。在法國有很好的發展，但1986年在馬水龍老師鼓勵下，選擇回到故鄉台灣奉獻。30年來他持續教學、持續演奏，並將台灣音樂帶上國際舞台。蘇顯達說，演奏莫札特、貝多芬、布拉姆斯的作品、厲害的比比皆是、沒什麼稀奇，因此只要有機會他就會演奏台灣本土作曲家的作品，讓外國人認識台灣，也刺激本土作曲家創作，開啟一個好的循環。
