花東鐵路的花蓮「溪口站」，因為配合台鐵路線改善工程中的「新溪口隧道」開始啟用，溪口站在11月13日晚上開出最後一班列車，服務了102年的車站正式退休。
下午6點50分，花蓮溪口站最後一班普快車發出之後，結束了溪口站從1911年以來102年的營運。11月13日這一天，溪口車站吸引了許多記錄這歷史性一刻的民眾前來。

11月14日起，溪口車站旁，台鐵路線改善工程中的新溪口隧道開始啟用，溪口車站被裁撤，不會再有列車經過，這是花東鐵道繼6月「月美站」被裁撤之後，第二座被裁撤的車站。
溪口車站從1911年7月15日開始營運，當時稱為「溪口驛」，路線的軌距比較窄，台灣光復後溪口站為三等站，到1986年時又降為招呼站。服務了一百多年的溪口車站，已經退役，而對岸的林榮站正在復站中，將以地下車站形式營運，未來的新路線，會有一番新的風貌。(公民記者 賴志軒 花蓮報導)
